چکیده

Photonic integration, advanced functionality, reconfigurability, and high radio frequency (RF) performance are key features in integrated microwave photonic systems that still difficult to achieve simultaneously. In this work, we demonstrate an circuit can be reconfigured for two distinct RF functions, namely, a tunable notch filter phase shifter. We achieved >50 dB high-extinction filtering over 6–16 GHz 2π continuously shifting 12–20 frequencies. At the same time, implemented on-chip linearization technique spurious-free dynamic range of more than 120 · Hz4/5 both functions. Our work combines multi-functionality one paves way reconfigurable front-ends with very performance.

Linearized electrooptic microwave downconversion using phase modulation and optical filtering.

We propose and demonstrate an electrooptic technique for relaying microwave signals over an optical fiber and downconverting the microwave signal to an intermediate frequency at the receiver. The system uses electrooptic phase modulation in the transmitter to impose the microwave signal on an optical carrier followed by re-modulation with a microwave local oscillator at the receiver. We demonst...

Full-C-band, sub-GHz-resolution Nyquist- filtering (de)interleaver in photonic integrated circuit

Nyquist wavelength division (de)multiplexing (N-WDM) is a highly promising technique for next-generation high-speed elastic networks. In N-WDM, Nyquist filtering is an essential function that governs the channel spectral efficiency. However, most Nyquist filter implementations to date require either expensive, power-hungry digital electronics or complex arrangements of bulky optical components,...

Photonic Integrated Circuit for All-Optical Millimeter-Wave Signal Generation

Generation of millimeter-wave electronic signals and power is required for highfrequency communication links, RADAR, remote sensing and other applications. However, in the 30 to 300 GHz mm-wave regime, signal sources are bulky and inefficient. All-optical generation of mm-wave signals promises to improve efficiency to as much as 30 to 50 percent with output power as high as 100 mW. All of this ...
